Buffalo Bills’ Left Guard Richie Incognito Retiring Due To Health Issues

NFL offensive lineman Richie Incognito announced on Tuesday that he’s retiring from the NFL after 12 seasons. Incognito has played on the Buffalo Bills for the past three seasons; he said that after a visit to the doctors, he decided to retire because his liver and kidneys are “shutting down.”  Incognito said, “I went to a doctor’s appointment the other day, and they said, ‘Listen, the stress is killing you, what are you doing?’ And I said, ‘Listen, I’m just doing what I love, and that’s playing football.’ So that’s why I’m done.” Incognito told Carucci that his stomach had been bothering him in recent seasons and that his doctors said his diet was not helping his organs function well. Ronda Rousey entered the ring for the first match of her career Sunday night at WrestleMania 34 in front of a sold-out crowd at the Superdome. Alongside her tag team partner, Olympic gold medalist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, Rousey was victorious in the first bout of her career, as Angle and Rousey defeated Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Stephanie McMahon. Expectations for this match and Rousey’s entry into the scripted fighting world of WWE were uncertain, but Rousey put on a solid first effort. Rousey said she didn’t hold any regrets about her UFC career, saying “I thought I would never say this, but I’m so happy I lost those [final UFC] fights because it led me here. This is so worth it. Packers WR Trevor Davis Arrested After Making Bomb Joke At LAX

Police confirmed that Green Bay Packers wide receiver Trevor Davis was arrested Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport for making “criminal threats” while checking in. According to police, Davis and a female companion were checking in at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter Sunday morning when the ticket agent “asked the usual questions about whether he was carrying any aerosol, cans, knives, weapons or explosives” when Davis then turned to his companion and said something to the effect of “Yeah, did you pack the explosives?”  Airport police were called after Davis made the joke and arrested him on a misdemeanor charge of making a bomb threat. According to reports Davis was booked into a Los Angeles jail after noon on Sunday, but released shortly after posting $15,000 bail. ...Read more

Patrick Reed Wins The 2018 Masters, Beating Rickie Fowler By A Stroke

Patrick Reed held off a rally from Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler, carding a 1-under-par-71 on Sunday to give him his first major win and green jacket at the 2018 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Reed finished the tournament at 15-under-par. Reed, who had been ahead since the second round, led Rory McIlroy by three shots overnight. McIlroy, chasing his first Green Jacket to complete the Grand Slam, faded with a two-over 74, while Reed parred the last to shoot 71 and win on 15 under. Fowler ended second, one ahead of Spieth, who had nine birdies in a 64.  The 27-year old Reed said: “I knew it was going to be tough. Junior Hockey Team Bus Crash In Canada Leaves 14 Dead And 15 Injured

Fourteen people died and 15 more were injured in a crash involving a bus carrying a junior hockey team in Saskatchewan, Canada, and a semi truck, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. 29 people, including the bus driver, were on the bus containing the Humboldt Broncos, during the 5 p.m. crash. Some of the people are in critical condition; the driver of the semi-truck was not injured. An initial investigation has revealed that the semi-truck was traveling west on Highway 335 as the team bus was going north on Highway 35. The Humboldt Broncos were on their way to play the Nipawin Hawks in a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoff game. The team has players ages 16 through 21. Patriots Julian Edelman Helps Stop Potential School Shooting After Instagram Comment

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman may have helped thwart a school shooting when one of his Instagram followers brought to his attention a troubling comment on one of his posts. Edelman said that a follower of his messaged him in March about a threatening comment that appeared on one of Edelman’s posts; he told his assistant to look for the comment and alert police. The comment read, “I’m going to shoot my school up watch the news.” The comment was then traced to a house in Port Huron, Michigan, where a 14-year-old boy admitted to posting the threat. Two rifles belonging to the boy’s mother were found in the house, and the boy is now being held in juvenile detention. Edelman credits the Instagram user who first told him about the comment, saying “Thankfully, this kid said something. We’re going to send him something, a care package, just for his work. Celtics All-Star Kyrie Irving Out For Season And Playoffs After Knee Surgery

Due to his left knee surgery, All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving of the Boston Celtics will miss the rest of the regular season and playoffs, according to reports. While reports were not yet confirmed by the Celtics, it is being reported that Irving would miss an opportunity to play in the NBA Finals for a fourth straight year. Irving said his knee started feeling sore during the March 3 game against Houston, and has not played since March 11 against Indiana. In his first season with the Celtics, he has posted averages of 24.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. ...Read more

RGIII Signs 1-Year Deal With Baltimore Ravens

Robert Lee Griffin III, also know as RGIII, will become a Baltimore Raven, the team announced Wednesday. RGIII will sign on a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens next week as a back-up quarterback. Griffin, 28, a star at Baylor and the 2012 NFL offensive rookie of the year with the Washington Redskins, will be brought in as a backup to Joe Flacco. He last started an NFL game for the Browns in Week 17 of the 2016 season. An ACL injury at the end of his rookie season led to injury struggles for the rest of his time with the Redskins. “He’s a very talented quarterback who’s had a lot of success in this league early on,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “So we’re excited about it. We felt like we needed a No. 2 quarterback. You look at the veteran quarterbacks out there … I mean, where we’re at right now, I’m pretty excited about this player. Cristiano Ronaldo had already put Real Madrid 1-0 up over Juventus, but half-way through the second half he scored another goal which stunned the crowd and fans around the world. The Real Madrid forward leaped into the air with his back to the goal, swung his right leg high over his head and sent the ball flying past a flat-footed Gianluigi Buffon. The bicycle kick, Ronaldo’s second goal of the match, came in a 3-0 win over Juventus on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. Tony Stewart To Settle Wrongful Death Lawsuit With Family Of Racer Killed On Track

Three-time NASCAR Cup champion Tony Stewart has agreed to settle with the parents of Kevin Ward Jr. five weeks before the wrongful death lawsuit over Ward’s death was supposed to go to trial. Ward died after being hit by Stewart’s car at a race during the Empire Super Sprints race at Canandaigua Speedway in on August 9, 2014. Ward was struck by Stewart’s car after leaving his own vehicle on track during a caution period of a race to express his displeasure with Stewart, as he’d wrecked while battling for position with Stewart. Stewart’s car hit Ward, tossing him 25 feet. Ward died 45 minutes later from blunt force trauma. He was 20 years old.  Stewart had sought to dismiss the wrongful death and gross negligence claims brought against him in the Ward family lawsuit as both Ward and his father had waived their right to legal claims when they acknowledged the risks involved in racing in signing a waiver for the event.  ...Read more
