MLB And MGM Resorts Form New Gaming Partnership

Major League Baseball has become the newest U.S. sports league to partner with a gaming operator on Tuesday. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced a multi-year deal with MGM Resorts International, which designates MGM as the first official gaming and entertainment partner of MLB. MGM sportsbooks will begin to utilize baseball’s official statistics feed and have access to enhanced stats on an exclusive basis. In addition, MLB intellectual property, like league and team logos, will appear in MGM advertising and at the company’s sportsbooks. UCF Quarterback McKenzie Milton Recovering From Nerve Damage

The family of Central Florida quarterback McKenzie Milton says he has nerve damage in his right leg, but “blood flow has been restored” and he is recovering from the injury suffered during UCF’s last game. Milton was taken off the field during the first half of the Knights‘ victory at South Florida on Friday after getting injured while being tackled. Blake Bortles Benched By Jaguars; Cody Kessler Will Start Vs. Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone announced in a news conference Monday that QB Blake Bortles has been benched, and backup quarterback Cody Kessler will start against the Indianapolis Colts this week. Marrone told reporters; “I had a chance to talk to both Blake and Cody earlier today and I told both those guys the same thing: I’m making this change to give us an opportunity to win a football game.” ...Read more

Josh Donaldson Signs $23 Million Deal With Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves announced they have signed 2015 American League MVP Josh Donaldson to a one-year, $23 million contract. Donaldson, who turns 33 on Dec. 8, was a three-time All-Star in four seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays and won the 2015 AL MVP Award, when he posted a .939 OPS and drove in a league-leading 123 runs.  From 2013 to 2016, Donaldson finished fourth, eighth, first and fourth in AL MVP voting. ...Read more

San Francisco 49ers Release Reuben Foster After Domestic Violence Arrest

On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers said they plan to release linebacker Reuben Foster after he was arrested at the team hotel in Tampa, Florida on a domestic violence charge. Foster was arrested by Tampa police at 9:10 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt hotel where the team was staying before playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, charged with one count of first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence.  He was booked into jail at 11:11 p.m. Saturday and was being held on $2,000 bail, according to an arrest report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office. ...Read more

Cleveland Cavaliers Parting Ways With J.R. Smith; Team Looking For Trade Deal

The Cleveland Cavaliers and guard J.R. Smith will part ways, as the team figures out the best route in which to trade the 15-year NBA veteran. Smith and his representatives will work with the team to figure out trade options. The Cavaliers said in a statement released on Tuesday, November 20th: “the organization wishes JR and his family well and appreciates and thanks him for his contributions in the community, to the team and his role in the 2016 NBA Championship.”  ...Read more

Texas Rangers Third Baseman Adrian Beltre Announces Retirement After 21 Seasons In MLB

Third baseman Adrian Beltre is retiring after eight years with the Texas Rangers. Beltre said in a statement, “after careful consideration and many sleepless nights, I have made the decision to retire from what I’ve been doing my whole life, which is playing baseball, the game I love.” Beltre signed with the Rangers in January 2011, after playing in 13 big-league seasons for the Dodgers, Mariners and Red Sox.  ...Read more
