Michael Douglas Is Joined By Loved Ones, Including His Father Kirk Douglas, At Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony

Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week, surrounded by family and friends, including his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, his son Cameron Douglas, and his father, star Kirk Douglas. Jane Fonda, Eric McCormack, Andy Garcia and Douglas’ former agent Ron Meyer were also present at the event. During the ceremony, Michael gave a heartfelt speech about having his loved ones by his side for the big moment, saying, “Let’s face it, this is a great honor and I’m not getting any younger. I’m going to enjoy it with my wife and my son and my caretakers and my great-great-grandkids.” Mentioning wife Zeta-Jones, he added, “I’m grateful for your support and your love and your patience. By the way, in another week we are celebrating our 18th anniversary, so thank you for the best 18 years of my life, sweetheart!” When addressing his famous father, Douglas said, “My dad is here. In a month, Kirk will be 102 years old! It means so much to me, Dad, that you’re here today. Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Going To Trial In Child Custody Case

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are heading to court over thecustody of their children. According to court documents, the trial is set to begin on December 4. Jolie and Pitt separated in September 2016 after two years of marriage, and filed for divorce shortly after. The former-couple have six children together, ranging from ages 10 to 17. Since the time of their split, the duo’s mutually agreeable custody arrangement has been a point of contention for the two starts.  Jolie has sought sole custody, while Pitt is seeking joint custody. Man Involved In NYC Subway Bombing Convicted Of Terrorism Charges

A Bangladeshi immigrant who set off a pipe bomb in New York City’s busiest subway station at rush hour last December, was convicted Tuesday of terrorism charges. The conviction of Akayed Ullah was returned in Manhattan federal court after a trial in which the defense maintained that he intended to kill only himself last Dec. 11. Fortunately no one died in the incident.  Prosecutors said that Ullah wanted to maim or kill commuters as part of a “lone wolf” terrorist attack on behalf of the Islamic State group, disputing the defense’s claim and saying Ullah would not have worn a bomb had he wanted to kill only himself. They also cited social media postings by Ullah as well as comments he made after his arrest to investigators. In closing arguments Monday, Assistant U.S. Attorney George Turner said Ullah told investigators after his arrest that he wanted to avenge U.S. aggression toward the Islamic State group and had chosen a busy weekday morning to attack so he could terrorize as many people as possible. ...Read more

HBO’s “Deadwood” Has Begun Production On Long-Awaited Movie

HBO announced this week that production has begun in Los Angeles on the highly anticipate Deadwood movie. A press release stated: “The indelible characters of the series are reunited after 10 years to celebrate South Dakota’s statehood. Former rivalries are reignited, alliances are tested and old wounds are reopened, as all are left to navigate the inevitable changes that modernity and time have wrought.” Series start Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, Paula Malcomson, John Hawkes, Anna Gunn, Dayton Callie, Brad Dourif, Robin Weigert, William Sanderson, Kim Dickens and Gerald McRaney will all be returning for the movie.The followup was written by David Milch and will be directed by Daniel Minahan. Idris Elba Named People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ For 2018

People magazine has named Idris Elba as 2018’s Sexiest Man Alive. The British actor, who has starred in movies such as “The Wire” and “Luther,” was surprised after being crowned this year’s winner, according to the magazine. Elba’s selection was revealed on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” with the actor appearing via satellite from London. Elba said of his selection, “My mom is going to be very, very proud.”  Past winners of People’s title have included Dwayne Johnson, David Beckham, Chris Hemsworth, Adam Levine, Channing Tatum and country singer Blake Shelton. Baltimore Ravens Taking Their Bye Week Off To Recharge

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh plans to send his players home from the Baltimore Ravens facility after meetings on Wednesday, saying he hoping time away helps his players recharge during the bye. The Ravens have a 4-5 record, and entered last week’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with 10 players on the injury report. The Ravens started the season 4-2 and in first place in the AFC North. Harbaugh is 45-46 since the Ravens won the Super Bowl in 2012. Last week, the Steelers held Baltimore to 268 total yards, this after the Ravens changed quarterbacks from Joe Flacco to rookie Lamar Jackson. Harbaugh said he’s not making a switch at the position and said the team’s rushing production is far better with Jackson on the field. ...Read more

NFL And Video Game Sensation “Fortnite” Partners For Huge Deal

The NFL announced Monday that it struck a deal with Epic Games, the maker of the popular game Fortnite. Now the players of the game will be able to outfit their characters in NFL jerseys. Brian Rolapp, chief media and business officer for the NFL, said in a statement, “we see the popularity of Fortnite every day at the NFL as many of our players are passionate about the game.  Now with the new agreement, fans can purchase a jersey of any of the 32 NFL teams and add a number to it from 1-99. The jersey is purchased in the Battle Royale store inside the game using virtual bucks (which is equivalent to about $15 in real money,) and players can have up to eight NFL jerseys in his/her locker. Epic Games also announced it had raised $1.25 billion that would give the game’s producer a value of nearly $15 billion. Those who are parts of the sports world, who were part of the raise, include Washington Capitals and Wizards owner Ted Leonsis, Golden State Warriors co-owner Peter Guber and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan. ...Read more

Newlyweds Die In Helicopter Crash, Right After Leaving Their Wedding

Authorities say that a newlywed couple from Texas died after the helicopter carrying them from their wedding crashed into the side of a mountain in Uvalde, Texas. Uvalde is in northwest Uvalde County, about 100 miles west of San Antonio. Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman Byler were married just before the fatal crash on Saturday evening at the Byler family ranch, just before departing on the helicopter in front of family and friends. The couple – both seniors from Sam Houston State University – were on the way to their honeymoon in San Antonio when their helicopter crashed into the mountain, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Authorities were notified of the crash just after midnight on Sunday morning, but rescue crews were unable to reach the helicopter overnight because of the difficult terrain and “pitch dark” conditions. The helicopter crashed about five to 10 minutes after it took off, said Craig Hatch, an air safety investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board.  ...Read more

U.S. Networks Drop ‘Racist’ Trump Ads As Election Day Approaches

NBC, Fox News and Facebook all pulled ads by President Donald Trump’s campaign that critics had labeled racist; this coming the day before election day as a fight for control of the U.S. Congress will play out. The 30-second ad, sponsored by Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign, featured courtroom video of an illegal immigrant from Mexico convicted in the 2014 killings of two police officers, juxtaposed with scenes of migrants headed through Mexico. ...Read more
