Upcoming traffic changes on Upper Street and Avenue of Champions

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 4, 2020) – Lexington visitors and commuters will notice traffic changes in the University of Kentucky area soon. Avenue of Champions, from South Limestone to Lexington Avenue, will be restricted to one-way traffic beginning Monday, March 9. The intersection of South Upper and Winslow streets will be closed starting at 7 p.m., Friday, March 13, through the weekend. Death Toll Rises To 25 After Tornado Hits Nashville And Central Tennessee

At least 25 people were killedseveral others injured and tens of thousands of households and businesses left without power when a tornado struck parts of Nashville and central Tennessee early Tuesday, officials said. The deaths occurred in at least four counties, including Davidson, where Nashville is, and Putnam, Benton and Wilson, according to officials. 2020 Tokyo Olympics Flame-Lighting Ceremony Will Be Held Despite Coronavirus Outbreak

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics flame-lighting ceremony is due to go ahead as normal in Greece next week despite concerns over coronavirus. The Greek Olympic committee, known as the HOC, said they are working with health authorities and will “evaluate the situation every two days,” per the Associated Press. The Olympic flame is due to be lit in southern Greece and carried in a relay through the country before being handed over to the organizers of the Tokyo Games. ...Read more
