U.S. Homeland Security Chief Says She Did Not Hear President Trump Use Vulgarity During Meeting

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said on Tuesday she did not hear President Donald Trump use a vulgarity to describe African countries during an impassioned White House meeting last week. Nielsen’s testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee echoed statements she has made since the meeting on Thursday with Trump and Republican and Democratic legislators, which continued the debate on an immigration law deal and generated accusations of racism toward Trump. Nielsen said she did not remember Trump categorizing African countries in a specific way. “The conversation was very impassioned. Former CIA Officer Arrested For Keeping Classified Information

A former CIA officer has been arrested and charged with illegally retaining classified records, including names and phone numbers of covert CIA assets. 53 year-old Jerry Chun Shing Lee was arrested Monday night after arriving at JFK International Airport. He made an initial appearance Tuesday in federal court in New York, but will face charges in northern Virginia, where the CIA is located. According to court documents, Lee, a Hong Kong resident, served in the CIA from 1994 to 2007 as a case officer. A court affidavit states that Lee traveled to northern Virginia with his family in 2012, when the FBI searched Lee’s possessions and found two small books with handwritten notes containing names and numbers of covert CIA employees and locations of covert facilities. ...Read more

Landon Donovan Given Hero’s Welcome At León Introduction

Landon Donovan was presented in front of 7,000 Club León fans on Monday evening in Estadio León. “I’m here to play, win games and be champion,” said Donovan in Spanish. The 35-year-old came out of retirement to sign a contract with León until next December in a surprising move, considering Donovan’s last game for LA Galaxy was back in November 2016. The move to bring Donovan to León happened quickly, with the forward admitting only a week ago he wasn’t interested in the move to Mexico. After thinking it through and then visiting León last Wednesday, Donovan said he was convinced coming out of retirement was the right thing to do. NBA Opens Investigation Into Rockets-Clippers Postgame Incident

The NBA is planning to speak with players from both the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers to determine the specifics of late-game and postgame events involving the teams.NBA spokesman Tim Frank said that the league would look into the matter. Tempers boiled over Monday night late in the Clippers’ 113-102 victory, to the point where several security guards were needed outside the Houston locker room postgame. Several Rockets players headed toward the Clippers’ locker room afterward, seeking a confrontation, but were escorted away by security before anything got physical.  It is expected that the NBA will have to take some disciplinary action against players. Enrique Iglesias And Anna Kournikova Share First Photos Of Newborn Twins

Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova’s have finally revealed photos of their newborn twins. Iglesias posted the first photo of one of their twins on Instagram Tuesday. In the picture, Iglesias is snuggled up to the baby with “My Sunshine” as the caption on the photo.  In a separate post, Kournikova shared a photo of one of the babies, with the same caption. Back in December, the famously private couple secretly welcomed twins, Nicholas and Lucy,  in Miami. They hadn’t previously announced they were expecting.  Iglesias and Kournikova have been together since 2001 after meeting on the set of his “Escape” music video. Kanye West And Kim Kardashian Welcome Third Child Via Surrogate

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are the parents to a newborn baby daughter, who was born via a surrogate. The 37-year-old reality star announced the news on her website: “Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”  Kardashian also posted that the baby girl was born January 15, 2018 at 12:47am and weighed 7lbs 6oz. Shutdown Deadline Looms As Congress Deal Remains Elusive

A firestorm ignited by President Donald Trump’s remarks last week has impaired lawmakers’ ability to reach a deal on immigration and spending levels, according to congressional aides. Sources also caution of a possible government shutdown at week’s end. Congressional aides say they are expecting a short-term deal funding the government for a few weeks to come to the table, but by no means do they feel it is guaranteed. Prospects for any deal diminished because of controversial reported comments last week from President Trump in a meeting with lawmakers about his desire to stop immigration from “shithole countries.”  Mr. Trump denied reports of his remarks, saying “they weren’t made,” and accused Democrats of backing away from a deal. Thirteen People Found Shackled Inside California Home

Two parents were arrested after police discovered that 13 people were being held captive in their California home, shackled to beds with chains and padlocks in filthy conditions, officials said Monday. David Allen Turpin, 57, and Louise Anna Turpin, 49, were charged Sunday with torture and child endangerment and bail has been set at $9 million each. The couple was taken to the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside. Their victims ranged in age from 2 to 29, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. One victim, a 17-year-old girl, managed to escape from the residence in Perris, California on Sunday and called 911 from a cell phone she found in the house, police said. The girl claimed her 12 brothers and sisters were being held captive inside the home by her parents, some of them bound with chains and padlocks. Minnesota Vikings OC Pat Shurmur To Be New York Giants New Head Coach

Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur is expected to accept an offer to become the next coach of the New York Giants. Multiple outlets reported Monday afternoon that Shurmur will accept the offer, making him the sixth straight Giants head coach since Bill Parcells departed the team in 1991 with an offensive background. Shurmur, 52, was in contention to succeed the recently retired Bruce Arians as head coach for the Arizona Cardinals. Iconic College Football Announcer Keith Jackson Dies At 89

Keith Jackson, the voice of college football for generations of fans, died Friday night. He was 89. Jackson worked for ABC Sports from 1966-2006 and college football wasn’t his only sport. Jackson covered the Olympics, the NBA, Major League Baseball, auto racing and more. He was also the play-by-play voice for the first season of ABC’s “Monday Night Football” in 1970. “For generations of fans, Keith Jackson was college football,” Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger said in a statement. “When you heard his voice, you knew it was a big game. Keith was a true gentleman and memorable presence. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Turi Ann, and his family.”  In 2015, the Rose Bowl’s radio and television facilities were named for Jackson. ...Read more
