Boston Celtics Marcus Smart Fined $35K For Verbally Abusing Referee

Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart was fined $35,000 by the NBA on Thursday for confronting and verbally abusing referees after a game. The incident occurred at the conclusion of the Celtics’ 129-120 over-time home loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. Philadelphia Eagles And Left Tackle Jason Peters Part Ways

Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to part ways with left tackle Jason Peters when they could not reach an extension agreement with their 11-year veteran. The 38-year-old Peters will become a free agent on March 18, Peters’ agent Vincent Taylor confirmed. HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl” Reboot Will Star Emily Alyn Lind In Lead Role

HBO Max has officially announced the first new member of the Gossip Girl reboot cast. Emily Alyn Lind will star in the forthcoming series, portraying a lead character in the series named Audrey, who “has been in a long term relationship and is beginning to wonder what more could be out there.” Lind has appeared in a slew of other projects, including Netflix’s The Babysitter and its sequel, and as the character Amanda Clarke on Revenge.  According to IMDb, her first role was in 2008’s The Secret Life of Bees, where she played a young version of Dakota Fanning’s character Lily. ...Read more

Coronavirus Death Toll Rises To 11 In The U.S., Including 1st Confirmed Death In California

The U.S. death toll from the coronavirus climbed to 11 on Wednesday with a victim succumbing in California — the nation’s first reported fatality outside Washington state. Officials in Placer County, northwest of Sacramento, said an elderly person who tested positive for COVID-19 Tuesday after returning from a San Francisco-Mexico cruise had died.
