ESPN Suspends Anchor Jemele Hill For Two Weeks

ESPN has suspended “Sports Center” anchor Jemele Hill for two weeks after the company said she violated their social media guidelines policy two times in the past two weeks.  Hill, who had previously called President Donald Trump a “white supremacist,” criticized Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in a series of tweets Sunday after he had warned his players not to kneel during the national anthem. She also suggested a boycott of Dallas Cowboys’ advertisers. ...Read more

Dodgers Finish NLDS Sweep Of Diamondbacks

The Los Angeles Dodgers are heading to the NLCS. The Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 3 of the NLDS on Monday night to complete a sweep of the best-of-5 series.  Los Angeles will take on either the Chicago Cubs or the Washington Nationals in the NLCS.  The Los Angeles Dodgers are heading to the NLCS for the second successive season, and the fifth time in 10 years.

Yankees Beat Indians, Force ALDS To Game 5 In Cleveland

In the Bronx on Monday night, the New York Yankees bested the Cleveland Indians 7-3 in Game 4 of the ALDS. After dropping the opening two games of the series, the Yankees have now evened the best-of-five set at two games apiece.  Game 5 will be played on Wednesday at Progressive Field, and will determine which of these teams advances to the ALCS to take on the Astros.  ...Read more

California Wildfires Prompt Mass Evacuations In Napa Valley

Several wildfires in northern California have prompted mass evacuations in the Napa Valley, fire officials say. The Atlas Peak fire was the largest, quickly growing to more than 200 acres near Napa, and a fire near Calistoga had burned several buildings and prompted mandatory evacuations along several roads.  Early Monday morning, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department said fires had also erupted in Santa Rosa, Windsor and Sebastopol. ...Read more

Giants Odell Beckham Jr. Fractures Ankle In Game Against The Chargers

The New York Giants are looking at playing the next 11 games without wide receiver Odell Beckham.  Beckham fractured his left ankle in Sunday’s loss to the Chargers in a day filled with injuries for many members of the team.  It is unknown how the injury will affect Beckham’s future in the NFL and his future with the Giants, who drafted him in the first round in 2014. ...Read more
