Eagles’ Defensive Tackle Timmy Jernigan To Miss 4-6 Months After Back Surgery

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan will miss four-to-six months after undergoing back surgery for a herniated disc last week. Jernigan will need to recover at the low end of his recovery timetable if he’s to be ready for Week 1, and is certain to miss the team’s entire offseason program. Jernigan started 15 games for the Eagles and was a big reason for the reigning Super Bowl champion’s No. 1-ranked run defense.  He was acquired through a trade with the Baltimore Ravens a year ago. Rudy Giuliani Claims President Trump Repaid Lawyer $130K Payment To Porn Star

President Donald Trump reimbursed his personal lawyer for $130,000 in hush money paid to a porn actress days before the 2016 presidential election, Rudy Giuliani, one of Trump’s attorneys, said Wednesday, appearing to contradict the president’s past claims that he didn’t know the source of the money. Ty Cobb, Key Trump Lawyer Handling Russian Investigation, Retiring

Ty Cobb, who had served as the president’s lead White House attorney for the investigation, is retiring. President Donald Trump has tapped Emmett Flood, who advised Bill Clinton during his impeachment proceedings, to assist in the Russia investigation after Cobb announced plans to retire, the White House said Wednesday. Cobb said in a statement, “I believe the White House is in good hands with Emmett Flood, who is a highly regarded and very talented attorney.” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement that Cobb had been discussing his plans to retire with Trump and White House chief of staff John Kelly for the last several weeks.  ...Read more

C-130 Military Cargo Plane Crashes In Georgia, 5 Dead

An Air National Guard C-130 cargo plane on a training mission crashed Wednesday along a road near a Georgia airport, killing at least five National Guard members from Puerto Rico, authorities said. The plane appeared to have crashed into a median on the road, where firefighters later put out the blaze. Capt. Jeff Bezore, a spokesman for the Georgia Air National Guard’s 165th Air Wing, said the crash killed at least five people. The Air Force said the plane belonged to the 156th Air Wing out of Puerto Rico. The Savannah Air National Guard says the plane was doing a training mission when it crashed near the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. ...Read more

“The Handmaid’s Tale” Renewed For Season 3 On Hulu

The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed for a third season. Hulu announced the news on Wednesday, following the drama series’ record-breaking season two premiere last week, which doubled in viewership. The Handmaid’s Tale is based on the 1985 Margaret Atwood novel of the same name. The dystopian series has been massively successful since it’s season one debut in April 2017, scoring eight Primetime Emmy Awards, and making history as the first series ever on a streaming video on-demand service to nab both an Emmy and Golden Globe for Best Drama Series. ...Read more

Former 49ers Safety Eric Reid Files Collusion Grievance vs. NFL

Former San Francisco 49ers safety and current NFL free agent, Eric Reid, has reportedly filed a collusion grievance against the NFL over his employment status. Reid, who was one of the first players to join Kaepernick two years ago in kneeling during the national anthem, remains unsigned after becoming a free agent in March when his rookie contract with the 49ers expired. GM Sam Presti Says Billy Donovan To Return As Thunder Head Coach

Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti confirmed on Wednesday that head coach Billy Donovan will return for the 2018-19 season. The Thunder were eliminated by the Utah Jazz in six games in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Presti did say, however, he wasn’t pleased with how the season ended: “48 wins, one of 3 or 4 teams in top 10 in offense and defense, 7th best net rating in the league, 9th best record and we’re disappointed and we should be. Stephen Curry Returns As Golden State Warriors Take 2-0 Series Lead Over Pelicans

The Golden State Warriors used their sixth and final gear late on Tuesday to win Game 2, 121-116 — taking the series 2-0 in their favor as they headed back to Louisiana for Game 3 against the New Orleans Pelicans.  White the Pelicans in the game in the first half, the reigning NBA Champions clamped down on New Orleans at the 3-point line, forcing them to shoot a combined 20 percent from beyond the arc in the first two periods.   For the Warriors, the story was also about the return of Stephen Curry, who had 12 points off the bench in the first half alone and scored 28 total before the game ended. ...Read more

After a leak of nearly 50 questions Special Counsel Robert Mueller would like to ask the President as part of the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and the possibility of officials in Donald Trump’s campaign colluding with the Russians, it’s now clear that the scope of Mueller’s investigation widened significantly. The language of the leaked questions was written by Trump’s legal team, written off a list of detailed topics Mueller’s team said they would like to ask about.
