Minnesota Vikings Dalvin Cook Out For The Season

Coach Mike Zimmer of the Vikings confirmed Monday that rookie running back Dalvin Cook will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL during Sunday’s 14-7 loss to the Lions.  Cook tumbled to the turf with the non-contact injury early in the third quarter against Detroit, a play that saw him also lose the ball for a fumble before grasping at his knee.   ...Read more

UFC president Dana White says that the UFC will donate $1 million to the families of victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting, a promotion spokesperson confirmed with MMA Fighting on Monday.  The UFC has long had its headquarters in Las Vegas. “Sex And The City 3” Movie Cancelled, Stars Confirm

The ladies of “Sex and the City” will not be back for another movie. Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Carrie Bradshaw on the show, confirmed that the movie would not be happening. Other stars of the hit HBO show voiced disappointment, while also confirming the movie would not be filmed.  An unconfirmed report put the blame on co-star Kim Cattrall, claiming the actress, who played Samantha Jones on the show, made “outrageous demands” and because of it, the movie was canceled. ...Read more

Longtime NHL broadcaster Dave Strader Passes Away At 62

The Dallas Stars announced Sunday morning that play-by-play announcer Dave Strader passed away at the age of 62. Strader had been battling cancer for over a year and died at his home in Glens Falls, New York, according to the team.  Known as “The Voice,” Strader was honored by the Hockey Hall of Fame earlier this year with the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for his outstanding contributions as a hockey broadcaster. ...Read more

20 Dead and 100s Injured In Las Vegas Mass Shooting

More than 20 people were killed and 100 injured when what appears to be a lone gunman opened fire from a perch high up in the the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Sunday night, police said.  Las Vegas Police Department said the suspected gunman was believed to be a local and was on 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay hotel. Police responded to the scene, engaged him and he is now dead. Officials said they did not believe there were any more shooters. ...Read more

Miami Marlins Giancarlo Stanton Brings Home Run Total To 59

Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton hit his 58th and 59th home runs Thursday against the Atlanta Braves, the most since Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds did so in 2001.   Bonds set the all-time home run record with 73 in 2001, whie Sosa hit 64 homers. They are the last players to hit 60 in a season.  The Marlins have three games remaining in the regular season, so Stanton could wind up setting his own personal record for home runs.  ...Read more

Green Bay Packers’ Davante Adams Taken Off Field After Hit

Green Bay Packers’ Davante Adams, a fourth-year receiver, was taken to a local hospital after he took a helmet-to-helmet hit from linebacker Danny Trevathan of the Chicago Bears at Thursday night’s game.  The Packers said Adams was conscious and had feeling in all of his extremities.
