Olympic Gymnast Gabby Douglas Among Victims Of Former USA Gymnastic Doctor Larry Nassar

Gabby Douglas, the 2012 Olympic all-around champion, confirmed on Wednesday that she was abused by former USA Gymnastics team physician Larry Nassar, becoming the third member of the record-setting 2012 U.S. gold medal winning team to acknowledge they were abused by Nassar. Douglas’ statement confirming the abuse comes as Nassar has agreed a plea deal in which he will plead guilty on Wednesday to sexually assaulting seven young female athletes in a Michigan criminal case and will face at least 25 years in prison, according to people familiar with the case. ...Read more

57 Million Uber Users’ Information Hacked In 2016

According to a report on Tuesday, the personal data of 57 million riders and drivers of Uber were stolen by hackers in October of 2016, and Uber learned of it a month later. However instead of reporting the hack, Uber paid the hackers $100,000 to delete data and keep the breach quiet. No Social Security numbers, credit card details, or trip location information were part of the hack; but names, email addresses and phone numbers were taken from users, as well as 600,000 U.S. driver’s license numbers from company drivers.  ...Read more

Oakland Raiders Fire Defensive Coordinator Ken Norton Jr.

The Oakland Raiders have relieved Ken Norton Jr. of his defensive coordinator duties. Assistant Head Coach John Pagano will take over, the team announced Tuesday.  The move comes after the Raiders lost 33-8 to the New England Patriots on Sunday in Mexico City. The Raiders rank in the bottom third of most defensive categories this season and is the first team since 1933 to go through the first 10 games of a season without an interception. ...Read more

Missouri basketball freshman Michael Porter Jr. will likely miss the remainder of the season after undergoing back surgery, the school announced Tuesday.  Porter, rated the No. 1 prospect in the 2017-18 signing class, played just two minutes in the Tigers’ season-opening win over Iowa State on Nov. 10. Ryan Seacrest Denies Sexual Harassment Accusations As $15 Million Blackmail Attempt Surfaces

According to new reports a woman who worked as Ryan Seacrest’s wardrobe stylist at E! News threatened to go to the media with sexual allegations made against him, occurring between 2007 and 2010, unless Seacrest paid her $15 million. An attorney for the woman contacted Seacrest’s attorney and demanded $15 million, but when Seacrest’s attorney refused to pay up the woman’s attorney said they would settle for a 7-figure settlement.  In a statement, Seacrest, co-host for “Live with Kelly and Ryan” and the longtime host for “American Idol,” adamantly denied the allegations.  ...Read more

Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ Becomes Best Selling Album Of 2017 In Just One Week

Taylor Swift’s Reputation has become the biggest-selling album of the year in the US in a single week, with 1.23m sales. That total comfortably beats the 931,000 copies sold by Ed Sheeran in early March.  Swift has kept all but four songs from Reputation off streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music, meaning that fans need to pay to download the album or buy it on CD if they want to hear it.  ...Read more

CBS Suspends Charlie Rose After 8 Women Accuse Him Of Sexual Harassment

Veteran television host Charlie Rose was suspended by CBS and other broadcasters on Monday after a Washington Post report detailing allegations by eight woman that he sexually harassed them over the years. Rose, 75, apologized for the behavior reported in the investigation, which included allegations of groping, unwanted sexual advances, and in some cases appearing nude in the same room as a colleague. It was not clear how long Rose’s suspension would last, with CBS saying only that it was looking into the matter. ...Read more

Justice Department Sues to Halt AT&T-Time Warner Deal

The Justice Department on Monday said it would sue AT&T to halt its proposed $85 billion takeover of Time Warner. The Justice Department raised concerns about the deal earlier this month, as top officials at the companies and the Justice Department traded conflicting accounts of what steps AT&T and Time Warner were told they had to take to avoid an antitrust action. A Justice Department official said that his office decided to bring action after its economic analysis concluded that the merger “would harm competition.” ...Read more

Ex-NFL Receiver Terry Glenn Dies in Car Crash

Former NFL wide receiver Terry Glenn was killed Monday morning in a car accident in Irving, Texas.  He was 43 years old. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office later confirmed Glenn’s death saying the cause was a “suspected motor vehicle accident.” Glenn played for 12 seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers and spent his final five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.  ...Read more
