Actress Heather Locklear Hospitalized For Psychiatric Evaluation After Threatening To Harm Herself

According to the the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Heather Locklear was hospitalized in Thousand Oaks, California on Sunday, June 17, for a psychiatric evaluation. A police source said that a family member called 911 and claimed that Locklear, 56, had been acting erratically and threatened to hurt herself. The caller also alleged that Locklear was looking for a gun to shoot herself. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department both responded to Locklear’s home at approximately 3:50 p.m. They found that “there was no crime, only a medical issue.”  This comes months after Locklear was arrested on a felony charge of domestic violence and three counts of misdemeanor battery on a police officer following a domestic dispute with her boyfriend.  Locklear returned to treatment in the wake of her arrest, her sixth stint in rehab. Justice Department Investigating James Comey Memos After FBI Referral

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz said on Monday that his office is investigating fired FBI Director James Comey ’s private memos and whether any possible classified information in them was properly handled. Comey documented his interactions with President-elect and then President Trump in a series of documents. Some of the memos were shared with a law professor with the intent that its contents be provided to the New York Times.  Horowitz told the Senate Judiciary Committee, in response to a question from chairman Chuck Grassley, that “We received a referral on that from the FBI, we are handling that referral and we will issue a report when the matter is complete.”  Horowitz appeared alongside FBI Director Chris Wray in a hearing about last week’s release of his report about the FBI’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Former First Ladies Join Together To Condemn Trump Administration’s Family Separation Policy

On Monday, former first lady Michelle Obama responded to the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy of separating immigrant parents from their children at the border, citing former First Lady Laura Bush’s condemnation, saying: “Sometimes truth transcends party.” Obama is now the fourth first lady to speak out against the policy, including the current first lady, Melania Trump. Hillary Clinton also responded to the policy, telling an audience in New York on Monday that it is a “moral and humanitarian crisis” and that “every human being with a sense of compassion and decency should be outraged.” ...Read more

Suspect Killed After Shooting At Walmart In Washington State

Two people were shot and the suspect killed at a Walmart Supercenter in Tumwater, Washington state, police said Sunday. Police responded to a shooting just after 5 p.m. PDT at a Walmart Supercenter in Tumwater, Washington; Tumwater is about 65 miles south of Seattle.  Officers originally responded to a report of a car driving in the wrong direction, but as the officers were in route they were dispatched to reports of a carjacking nearby with shots fired.  Around 5:30 p.m. Thurston County Dispatch began receiving calls of shots fired “in or around the Tumwater Walmart and parking lot,” according to police. Police say the suspect exited the store and attempted to carjack a car in the parking lot, shooting an adult male occupant of the car in the process. The adult male victim was treated for gunshot wounds and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The suspect attempted another carjacking in the Walmart parking lot, and was approached by two armed civilians. One of the armed civilians shot the suspect, and the suspect died at the scene.  ...Read more

Thousands of protesters chanted and held signs Sunday, demanding the Trump administration stops separating children from their parents at the border.  A newly-opened “tent city” along the Texas border is now at the center of the national immigration debate. The camp is housing teenage boys who illegally entered the United States — unaccompanied by an adult. The march was organized by Democratic Congressman Beto O’Rourke. “We were told there were 98 kids in this tent city yesterday, we were told today there are 200 kids,” O’Rourke said. “We’ve all got to own this, we cannot blame this on Trump, we cannot blame this on a political party — this is America right now, and so America’s gotta show up.” The Department of Homeland Security numbers show that over a six-week period, nearly 2,000 children were separated from nearly as many adults. ...Read more

Mexico Beats Defending Champion Germany At 2018 FIFA World Cup

Germany, the 2014 defending World Cup champions and ranked No. 1 in the world, were surprisingly beaten by Mexico 1-0 on Sunday, putting its hopes of advancement in doubt. Hirving Lozano scored the only goal in the 35th minute, picking up Javier Hernandez’s pass inside the penalty area and beating Mesut Ozil before shooting past Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer from 10 yards.  Three of the previous four defending World Cup champions failed to reach the knockout stages, France, Italy and Spain. The Germans are hoping to become the first team to retain the World Cup title since Brazil in 1962, but have only won one of their last seven games in all competitions. “Talking Dead” Host And Nerdist Founder Chris Hardwick Denies Sexually Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend Chloe Dykstra

Actress Chloe Dykstra described in a viral post that an ex-boyfriend became emotionally abusive and allegedly sexually assaulted her in the three years they dated. While she didn’t name the subject of her essay, it was widely assumed to be Chris Hardwick; who was widely known as an ex-boyfriend. Now Hardwick — the founder of Nerdist and “Talking Dead” host — has issued a statement seemingly confirming his identity in the essay, but denying that the abuse took place. During the relationship, Dykstra was “terrified” of upsetting Hardwick, she said, and allowed the alleged assault to continue because he “expected” her “to be ready for him when he came home from work.” Hardwick said in a statement that Dykstra’s accusations were “very serious” and “not to be taken lightly.” Hardwick denied all of Dykstra’s claims in his statement. “l was blindsided by her post and always wanted the best for her,” he wrote. “As a husband, a son, and future father, I do not condone any kind of mistreatment of women.” ...Read more
