The NFL and the players’ union are continuing talks for a new collective bargaining agreement, and the most dramatic proposal on the table from owners is an expanded regular season to 17 games that could eliminate preseason games in their entirety. UFC Heavyweight Champ Stipe Miocic To Miss Rest of Year With Eye Injury

The agent to UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic said he is “highly unlikely” to fight again this year as he recovers from an eye injury suffered against Daniel Cormier at UFC 241. Miocic won that fight in August by fourth-round knockout, but the injury may keep him from competing until at least 2020. The injury occurred when Cormier inadvertently poked Miocic in the eye during the rematch. ...Read more

Minnesota Vikings Re-Sign Laquon Treadwell To Replace Injured Chad Beebe

The Minnesota Vikings announced on Tuesday they have re-signed wide receiver Laquon Treadwell four weeks after parting ways with him; this after their wide receiver Chad Beebe was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Beebe suffered torn ligaments in his ankle during Sunday’s 34-14 win over the Oakland Raiders and is not expected to undergo surgery, according to a league source. ...Read more
