Donald Trump Dismisses Campaign Adviser As ‘Young, Low Level Volunteer’

President Trump on Tuesday downplayed the role of his former foreign policy adviser, George Papadopoulos, calling him merely a “young, low level volunteer,” whom “few people knew.”  The President’s Tuesday morning tweeted his first comments about Papadopoulos, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about being offered information from the Russian government regarding Trump’s 2016 opponent Hillary Clinton, according to a federal indictment unsealed Monday.  ...Read more

Ex-Trump Campaign Chair Paul Manafort Pleads Not Guilty To Charges In Russia Probe

Paul Manafort, the onetime chairman of the Trump campaign was indicted on 12 counts related to money laundering, including “conspiracy against the United States.”  A former Manafort colleague, Rick Gates, also has been charged. Gates and Manafort both surrendered to authorities on Monday morning.  The two men pleaded not guilty to all charges during a court appearance later that same day. ...Read more

Kevin Spacey Apologizes After Allegation Of Decades-Old Sexual Advance On A Minor

Actor Kevin Spacey apologized Sunday night for what he said “would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior” after actor Anthony Rapp accused him of making a sexual advance on him 31 years ago, when Mr. Rapp was 14 years old.  Spacey, who has long been private about his personal life, said in a statement that he did not remember any such encounter and also added that the accusation “has encouraged me to address other things about my life” and that he “choose now to live as a gay man.” ...Read more
