Lexington, Ky. (Dec. 5, 2018) – With the forecast of light snow in the evening and overnight hours, City crews will once again be out. Staff from Streets & Roads and Water Quality will be treating hills, bridges and overpasses as necessary as well as responding to any calls for slick spots. Additional staff will be brought in if the weather warrants a larger response.
Drivers are reminded that some roadways could be slick on their morning commute. Motorists should drive with caution and reduced speed, as well as leave extra space between vehicles should they need to stop quickly. Be especially careful on bridges and overpasses as they are typically the first driving surfaces to get slick.
The Office of Homelessness Prevention & Intervention Weather Plan remains in effect until Monday, Dec. 10. The plan includes expanded shelter services and free transportation to shelters.
