Lexington Emergency Management to Test Outdoor Sirens Tomorrow!

Lexington Emergency Management will test its network of outdoor warning sirens TOMORROW, Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 10am.

If you live near a park or golf course, expect to hear the outdoor siren sound a series of chimes followed by a voice announcement “This is a test”

This is a regularly scheduled test which occurs on the first Wednesday of each month when severe weather is NOT expected.

THERE IS NO EMERGENCY – THIS IS FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY.

Please do not call 9-1-1 for information about the siren test.

More information about the Lexington Warning Siren System is available at:  http://bereadylexington.com/siren-faq/

Please note: The warning siren located in downtown Lexington is inactive due to maintenance issues. There will be no test of the downtown emergency warning siren.

This test may be cancelled if adverse weather conditions exist.
