Siren Testing in Lexington Tomorrow (Wednesday)

Lexington Emergency Management will test its network of outdoor warning sirens TOMORROW, Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 10am. If you live near a park or golf course, expect to hear the outdoor siren sound a series of chimes followed by a voice announcement “This is a test”

This is a regularly scheduled test which occurs on the first Wednesday of each month when severe weather is NOT expected. THERE IS NO EMERGENCY – THIS IS FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY.

Please do not call 9-1-1 for information about the siren test.

More information about the Lexington Warning Siren System is available at: http://bereadylexington.com/siren-faq/

Please note: The warning siren located in downtown Lexington is inactive due to maintenance issues. There will be no test of the downtown emergency warning siren.
