Milling and paving work on Richmond Road postponed until Monday

LEXINGTON (August 9, 2017) – The milling and paving work scheduled to begin today on Richmond Road/East Main Street between Holiday Road/Chinoe Road and Midland Avenue/US 60 has been rescheduled due to expected rain.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet project is now scheduled to begin on Monday, August 14, and last through Friday, August 18.

  • Work on the left outbound lane (leaving downtown) will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Work on the left inbound lane (leading downtown) will take place between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Milling and paving will also take place in the median crossovers between Holiday Road/Chinoe Road and Mentelle Park. The crossovers will be closed to traffic while the milling and paving work is being done. All of the work is subject to weather conditions.

Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible. The city’s Division of Traffic Engineering will continue to monitor traffic impacts and adjust signal timing to mitigate the lane closures.
